Yosemite

We went camping in Yosemite a couple weekends ago with my aunt, uncle and cousin. It's really beautiful there - I don't know if I have ever seen such cool things in nature. The granite and waterfalls are amazing.

They have sequoia groves with huge trees. These are the ones that you can drive your cars through. I guess it's really not good for the trees because their roots don't go very deep and carving giant holes in the middle will eventually make them fall over.

Here is El Capitan. It's the famous granite rock formation that is popular with rock climbers. We watched some people summiting - you might be able to see the tiny person if you look closely at the top in the second picture. I guess it takes 4-5 days to climb. Can you imagine sleeping while climbing up a rock? Aye.

We went for a hike on Sunday to see some falls. We found a rock to match my belly. My belly might actually be a bit bigger.

The baby is doing well. I'll have the 28 week update soon!

24 weeks

Whoa, time is flying. The baby is really active - it doesn't seem like there are many times when it stops moving. I can even see my stomach move when it kicks. That's funny. Things have been going well - I have been feeling good and have more energy. Sleeping has been a little more difficult, but that might be the case for a while now.

We have actually been busy, even though this blog doesn't show that. My parents were in town, we have seen J's family a couple times, we went to a party in Napa with J's work - of course, I don't have pictures to reflect any of these things. I lost our camera a little while ago, so we're using an older one. I'm not sure if that matters as I'm not good at taking pictures regardless. Let's hope that changes once the baby arrives.

20 weeks

Here is the 20 weeks picture - halfway there! There is definitely a belly now, though I think it changes depending on the day and what I eat. :) It is fun to see growth. I have started feeling the baby move a little too, but it hasn't been quite strong enough for J to feel it yet.

I also had the 20-week ultrasound (I had it around 19 weeks) last week. It was fun to see the baby - I have actually already had a few ultrasounds as they do them at every appointment, but this one was a lot longer and we got to see the brain, the heartbeat, the organs, etc. Everything looked good! The pictures didn't turn out the best as the baby wasn't in great position - I guess he/she was crouched over and we weren't able to get great profile shots. But they're still fun.

Ultrasound Pictures

Below are pictures of three ultrasounds - 7 weeks, 10 weeks, and 14 weeks. It's amazing how much the baby grows in such a short time! I get an email telling me about the baby's development at each week and at 14 weeks the baby is 3 1/2 inches and about the size of a lemon. Isn't it cool that the body is so developed that you can clearly see its form, even when it's that tiny? Incredible.

Easter Weekend

I know these pictures are from a couple weeks ago, but since we didn't post the blog until recently, the pictures didn't get posted either. J's sister and her kids came over for Easter weekend. On Saturday, we went to a park in Berkeley - we had a picnic and then went to a farm they have where the kids can feed the animals. The kids were pretty brave - the animals weren't afraid to come up and grab everything out of your hands. The goats would head butt each other to get prime position. It was funny.

Angie and Clarissa feeding the goats. The one closest in the picture is trying to butt the one Angie is feeding out of the way. They're crazy.

Feeding the sheep. They were nice - they let you pet them even after you ran out of food. Not like the goats.

Riding on a steam train after the farm. Hoods up everyone. Except Liz, she didn't have one.

Welcome!

Hello all, and welcome to our blog. We are starting this update family and friends on the growing baby - thanks for all your well wishes! So far there isn't much to see, but we'll post the pictures we do have, and I'm sure my belly will be getting bigger soon!

We're not going to find out what we're having. J has always wanted it to be a surprise, and I think it will be fun too. We have already had a few ultrasounds so I will get those pictures up soon. My big ultrasound is next week - my parents will be in town so they will get to see the baby too!

Please continue to pray for a healthy pregnancy. It has been very humbling to see how much I am not in control of this pregnancy, but God has been so good and I have been continually reminded of his provision and protection.
